About Those Horses

So a couple of weeks ago, we drove up to Cape Shiriya, where the wild horses hang out. As we found the place, there were 3 horses in a fenced in area. Yeah, not exactly wild. Next to this was a gate controlled by motion sensor. I pulled through the gate and headed out to the lighthouse at the north-eastern-most point of mainland Japan. There was horse shit everywhere. I took some pictures, not too good, as it was a cold and windy overcast day.

We drove all through this area seeing lots of evidence of horses, yet no horses. We finally gave up and drove back out to the gate. There they were. I pulled the Slim-mobile over and took a few more pictures.

There was probably around 8 horses in the area, and then 4 more came haulin' ass up to the spot from the coast. I got a little nervous and made the Slimlings get back in the van as they approached. I didn't quite know how "Wild" these horses were.

That motion-sensor gate is the yellow and black thing behind the horses. These guys are wild, but they keep them partly contained to protect them from traffic. Good times.

Here's a young one.

They are beautiful. Makes me want to get back to Montana to see some farm life. All I have right now is Matay and the monsters!!

Sometimes all you can get is a husband with his "Barn Door" open.
