Kobayashi Wins Again, #6

Takeru Kobayashi wins again this year, at the 2006 Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest. His numbers were back up to 53, with an extra .75 of a hot dog to set a new record. Close on his heals for the first time was some rookie named Joey Chestnut of San Jose, Califonia, with 52 hot dogs and buns. For the full story, eat here.

Kobayashi-san, omedeto-gozaimasu!

The great Kobayashi wins again! I was there to see it too and it was a good show (even though my view of the eaters was limited). Incredible amounts of energy in the crowd.

It's bizarre how passionate Koby's fans are for him. I experienced it firsthand after the contest. Crazy, crazy stuff.
