New Neighbor

With the recent warm weather, my curtains and window have been open. Yesterday, I woke up to see my new neighbor, Clem the spider.

He was very shy and wouldn't let me take his picture, as you can see. So I went about my business, getting ready for work. Soon, I saw him moving around in his new home, so I grabbed the camera to get a few more shots. He balled up and sat there again. I eventually went to work without any good pictures of Clem.

I told some co-workers about my new neighbor. Shep suggested he was shy because he was a brown recluse. Yup, corny. I decided we needed an ice breaker to get to know each other. I figured movie night would bring us closer. I came home from work, and there was Clem, just hanging out, still giving me the silent treatment. The wind was really whipping his web around. A little while later, I looked to the window, and Clem was gone; web and all. He must have blown away, because as Clem surely knew, no matter how much you hate your neighbors, you never walk away from equity such as real estate.
