Childhood vs Adulthood
Ok, so after reading Matay's comment about sleeping on his couch instead of his bed, it got me thinking about bed-making and general sleep area cleanliness. I know when I visit Chez Matay, the couch is free of blankets and sleep-time fare. Even the time I did the re-pop-in after missing the last bus to Kunsan, his pad was still clean and tidy (way to go bro!) Check out Matay's bunk-house photo's.
So, anyway, it got me thinking about bed-making habits and how they can be altered by where you live. Then I started thinking about the home training I got as a kid and how it influenced me as an adult today.
So, here's the 2-part question for you all:
1. What were the rules on bed-making when you were a kid?
2. How do you view bed-making policies now that you "live under your own roof?"
I'll start it off:
1. When I was a kid, I had to make my bed everyday before school. I don't remember weekend trends, I only remember scooting my lego box out of my room to the TV on saturday mornings for cartoons, and sunday mornings it was silly putty and sunday comics time.
2. As an adult here in Korea, I make my bed everyday for 3 reasons.
Reason 1: This room is so small that my bed consumes approximately 20% of my entire living quarters. If 20% of your living quarters looks like home-made ass, you're a slob.
Reason 2: Occasional Room Inspections. Because I live in a dorm, and I'm not a Senior NCO, we have occasional room inspections by the Commander and 1st Sgt.. There's been 2 inspections since I've been here, I passed both.
Reason 3: I talk to my kids almost everyday on the webcam. Because of the time difference, it's usually during my morning as I get ready for work, and I want my kids to see that my room is tip-top. You've got to lead by example with your kids.

So if you can rub off on others, why not try to get Matay to update his blog....Ms. Lilly would like to see the blog updated. :)
I'm with Eb's on this one. Although, the only time I make the bed religiously is when I'm staying in Casa del Temper and I have to worry about the critters climbing in and joining me. Then you could probably bounce a quarter on it.
Otherwise I do throw the covers towards the pillow as I get up for old time sake.
