An Awesome Saturday Afternoon

After work on Saturday, Mr. H took me and two other GI's to an orphanage outside Kunsan City. We brought about 15 bags of candy out and had a blast. If you ever visit a Korean Orphanage, take heed; chicken fights and shoulder rides will occupy the majority of your day. I'd estimate probably 50 or more kids lived at this small orphange, and I think I had every one of them on my shoulders!

We plan to go back soon to clear bamboo and brush from their soccer field, and then get a game going with the kids. I hope it will involve far fewer shoulder rides, because my neck is killing me today.

Mr. H took us to a really good restaurant after, where we dug into some "beef in leaf" type fare. An awesome saturday afternoon, thanks Mr. H!!!

As close to a smile as he'd give me

I've got GUM on me!!! Altoids is supposed to be "Curiously Strong", but this gum looked curiously skeptical of the camera.

Outside the Bamboo House restaurant, boys in the park wear traditional clothes, I think they're called Hanbok. If I got caught playing in my "school clothes" when I was a kid, I got my ass beat. I hope these guys got away with playing in their Hanbok!
